Modern safety components are a critical part of the replacement campus design. A secure entrance vestibule will keep visitors contained in the administration area for campus check-in. Security cameras, door access system, and a storm shelter will be embedded into the design along with the technology infrastructure to operate all safety features. For safety and efficiency, the parent drive will be separate from the bus drive.

Counselor, nurse, administrator, and special program spaces will be sized to serve the projected student enrollment. Common areas, including the media center, kitchen, cafeteria, and gymnasium will accommodate campus enrollment and provide space to host community events. Fine arts and athletic areas will provide students with ample space to participate in extracurricular programming.

Academic classrooms will be housed in a two-story classroom wing, allowing for students to be grouped together by grade level. Technology will be embedded into the design for learning inside classrooms and all around the school. Classroom design will provide teachers with flexible spaces that can adapt for a variety of learning activities. The campus will be a contiguous design, minimizing the building’s overall footprint and keeping students safely under one roof.

Regarding Forte Junior High, the existing campus has three corridors to separately house each grade. The proposed projects at Forte Junior High will align the campus with the replacement Azle Junior High for equity in programming and student opportunities across grades 6, 7, and 8.
