The 88th Legislative Session amended state law and the Texas Education Code regarding vaping and e-cigarettes. House Bill 114 requires mandatory placement of a student in DAEP for selling, giving, delivering, possessing, using, or being under the influence of marijuana, THC, or e-cigarettes within 300 feet of school property as measured from any point on the school's real property boundary line, or while attending a school-sponsored or school-related activity on or off school property. *Azle ISD has vape detectors installed in all restrooms on secondary campuses.

As extreme heat conditions are forecasted to continue this week, we encourage students to fill up a water bottle before leaving campus in the afternoon. Just like any vehicle, our buses struggle to cool off in intense heat conditions due to their size and the door opening frequently between loading at campuses and at numerous stops throughout routes. Please remember to also check the Ride 360 app for information regarding drop-off or pick-up times.

First day of school is Wednesday, August 16th. Students do not need to bring all their supplies. All they will need is their backpack, Chromebook, a pen/pencil, and notebook or something to write in. Students will spend the 1st day in their homeroom class where they will get their official schedule, ID's, tour the campus, and more. The doors open at 8am, please do not drop your student off any earlier. We will follow the attached traffic pattern for the school year for drop off and pickup of students. Upon entering the parking lot off of Jarvis street please follow a single file line, after entering the parking lot the line splits into 2 lanes for pick-up/drop-off. Patience will be needed the first couple weeks as many parents and students are learning this pattern for the first time. Once athletic practices begin, before and after-school drop and pick-up will become smoother. 7th grade students will begin in the West Gym (separate gym), and 8th grade will be in the main gym. Both gyms are located by the drop-off parking lot. Homeroom teachers will be in both gyms to welcome their classes. All students will begin their day in the gym to meet their homeroom teachers. Bus riders will be dropped off on campus and guided to the gyms to meet their teacher as well. We are excited to see all of our students on campus to get the school year started, and can't wait to see all of the accomplishments they have this year.
