Azle ISD would like to welcome Stace Bowen as the new principal of Azle Junior High. He replaces Brian Roberts, who is retiring in December after 20 years of service to Azle ISD.
Mr. Bowen came to Azle ISD this year as an assistant principal at Azle High School. Prior to joining the AHS admin team, Bowen worked in Keller ISD as an assistant principal for six years. He has served in public education for 15 years, teaching various subjects and coaching at the junior high and high school levels before moving into administration. His first teaching and coaching job out of college was at Azle High School.
Bowen grew up in Azle and attended Azle ISD as a student at Walnut Creek Elementary, The Rock School, Azle Junior High, and Azle High School. After he graduated from AHS in 2006, Bowen earned a Bachelor of Science in Management from Texas Tech University and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Angelo State University.
He enjoys traveling, being outdoors, and spending quality time with his family and friends.
“Returning to lead and inspire the students and staff in a community that holds so many cherished memories for me is a dream come true,” said Bowen. “I can’t wait to partner with the staff, students, parents, and community members to contribute to the growth and success of Azle Junior High and make a positive impact on the lives of the students in this wonderful town.”
“I am excited about Mr. Bowen’s transition from Azle HS assistant principal to principal of Azle Junior High,” said Superintendent Todd Smith. “He brings strong leadership skills, a passion for student success, and a deep commitment to serving his hometown community. I look forward to working closely with Mr. Bowen.”
Mr. Bowen will move into his new role at the start of the second semester. The district will continue to work out the details of his transition from AHS and how this will look in the upcoming weeks.
