2006 Azle High School alum Taylor Wright made his red carpet debut in Fort Worth on August 29, for the premiere of “You Gotta Believe,” a movie about a Fort Worth Little League baseball team.
"You Gotta Believe" is now in theatres across the US and Canada. The movie is based on the true story of the 2002 Fort Worth Westside All-Stars baseball team and their inspiring journey to the Little League World Series. Taylor plays Weatherford coach Ben Williams. Luke Wilson and Greg Kinnear, along with other great actors, star in the film, making it a HOMERUN!
Taylor grew up in Azle and was involved in sports throughout his time in Azle ISD. He loved the arts and earned his bachelor’s degree in Radio, Television, Film, and Studio Art from Texas Christian University before moving to Los Angeles in 2012.
He was accompanied on the red carpet by his parents, Lisa and Bob Rettew, aunt Valeria, older sister Meshia Neely, her husband Derek, and their two girls, Parker and Sawyer.
“Taylor has had various roles throughout his career but this movie has us realizing his true love and ability to make us all enjoy a great movie,” said sister Meshia Neely.
