Azle High School boys and girls powerlifting teams qualify lifters for State!
The AHS Boys Powerlifting team closed out the Regional Meet tied for 3rd but lost on a double tiebreaker to get 4th place as a team in the Region.
AHS had 12 boys compete and four qualified for State which will be held in Abilene on Saturday, March 23: Case Moore, Alan Hard, Tyler Ulrich, and Cash Moore.
The season isn’t over but the team has already broken many of our all-time program records:
- District Champs (1st ever)
- 5 Individual District Champions
- 12 Regional Lifters
- 2 Individual Regional Champions
- Finished #4 as a team in the Region
- 11 Lifters finished Top 10 in the Region
- 4 State qualifiers
- 4 Academic All-State
The Lady Hornet Powerlifting team won the Regional Meet in Sherman on Thursday, February 29. AHS had 32 girls compete and all had PRs at the meet.
Azle had four State qualifiers and Coach Street was awarded 2024 Coach of the Year! The State meet will be in Frisco on Saturday, March 16.
- Kyndal Robbins placed 2nd and qualified for State
- Ella Swaim, Raegan Williams, and Emma Sustala all finished 1st and qualified for State
- Ryleigh Myers, Paizlee Gray, Haley Carlson, and Giselle Redding placed 3rd
- Cooper Yates placed 4th
- Mckynleigh Sisk and Dakota Donaldson placed 5th
