Azle High School senior Brandie Phillips was recently named Joe Trahan’s Scholar Athlete of the Week. Brandie’s interview with Trahan aired on Sunday, February 4, during the Sunday Night Sports Special program on WFAA Channel 8.
Phillips has participated in softball and basketball all four years that she has attended Azle High School and has maintained a 102.4 GPA. She received Academic All-District honors in both sports during her sophomore and junior years. Brandie is also a member of the National Honor Society, Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), and PALs, and plays select softball.
She will be signing with Paris Junior College to continue her softball career after high school.

The selection process considers a variety of factors when selecting potential Scholar-Athletes, including scholastic achievement, athletic accomplishment, community service, and school involvement.
The North Texas Buick Dealers Scholar Athlete segment airs during the Sunday Night Sports Special television program, which airs on Sundays at 10:35 p.m. on WFAA.
