Mrs. Hinkle’s history class at Forte Junior High was selected to be the first school in the country to participate in the Revolutionary War Traveling Trunk program through American Battlefield Trust. This program provides reproduction of artifacts, clothing, and various other materials for teachers to utilize during their early U.S. history instruction. Trunks are provided free of charge to classrooms around the country.
FJH received the Traveling Trunk on September 15, which was right around the time Hinkle’s class began studying the American Revolution. They were able to keep the trunk for a week before mailing it off to the next school.
Hinkle was selected two years ago to participate in the Civil War Traveling Trunk program and was thrilled to have been selected to participate again.
