AISD Teachers of the Year
Congratulations to Andy Zapata and Janet Thompson, Azle ISD secondary and primary teachers of the year. The two were honored on Saturday May 31st at the annual employee breakfast.
On April 23rd 2008 we had a team of five food service employees compete in a culinary competition held at Leander ISD in Cedar Park Texas. Our team was lead by Kathy Shearman. The other team members were Rose Marie Kennedy, Sarah Lackey, Lisa Polcyn and Prisna Hilton. The menu our team prepared was Asian vegetable slaw, oven roasted salmon with ginger and orange, and lemon risotto primavera. We competed against 6 other school districts and our team came in First! The team members received plaques, medals, certificates and goodie baskets consisting of cook books, herb cutting board and knife, herb seeds, garlic press, garnish utensils and a wok!
