Career & Technical Education (CTE)

The Azle ISD Career and Technical Education (CTE) program offers students certifications, instruction from industry-experienced educators, valuable knowledge, and hands-on training in real-world practices and standards. Azle ISD CTE teachers recognize the unique needs of a diverse student population and work together to improve rigorous and relevant academic and technical educational opportunities to prepare students for college and career success.

The goal of the Azle ISD CTE program is to develop an educated, prepared, adaptable, and competitive workforce. CTE offers clear pathways to industry certifications as well as postsecondary programs and degrees. Students who complete a CTE Program of Study will enhance their education with a powerful competitive advantage for college and/or a career in today's economy.

Azle ISD offers CTE courses in 13 Career Clusters. We have 30 Programs of Study with more than 85 CTE course offerings and multiple opportunities for students to receive industry-based certifications. CTE dual-credit courses are available through Weatherford College, The University of Texas (OnRamps), and Tarleton State University.

Azle ISD offers the only commercial refrigeration certification program in the country. We are also one of the first school districts in the nation to offer crane operator certification with a commercial driver's license to high school students who are of the age to obtain a CDL.

Student achievements in the CTE program include State and National qualifiers in Agriculture, Auto Tech, Audio & Visual Arts, Business Education, Family and Consumer Science, Health Occupations, and Criminal Justice.
